A slow website costs you visitors before they ever see what you offer – especially in Kenya, where a meaningful share of visitors are on mobile networks that aren’t always fast. Website speed optimisation is the work of making your site load quickly and reliably under real-world conditions.

We build our own sites with this in mind from the start – lean, hand-coded themes rather than heavy page-builder plugins, images properly sized and compressed, and JavaScript kept deliberately small. When we optimise an existing site, we look at the same things: what’s slowing the page down, whether images are unnecessarily large, whether unused plugins or scripts are loading on every page, and whether the hosting itself is part of the problem.

Speed also matters for Core Web Vitals, the specific measurements search engines use to judge how a page performs for real visitors – things like how quickly the main content appears and how stable the layout is while it loads. A faster, more stable page tends to perform better both for visitors and for search rankings, which is part of why speed and SEO work are closely connected.

We test sites the way real visitors experience them, including on slower connections, rather than only on fast office internet – so improvements reflect what someone browsing from Nairobi, Diani or Kibwezi on mobile data will actually notice.
